Julián Quintana, fishing captain in Bahía Solano

Julián started guiding in the Colombian Pacific in 2013. Since then he has worked the same stretch of coast between Bahía Solano, Bahía Cupica and Punta Ardita, long enough to know where each species moves according to the current and the month of the year.

The way he works is why COFCO does not sell fixed itineraries. The decisions of the day — where to run, when to change area, when to wait — are made on the water, reading conditions. That cannot be written into a brochure six months ahead.

Julián is also the reason this site does not promise permanent peak season. He would rather lose a booking than have someone fly twelve hours expecting marlin in a month with no marlin.
